Jean-Louis Masurel,
the owner

Tradition is not just an empty word in the Masurel family and Jean-Louis' wine is a superb example.
He has kept the hollow clover-leaf motif of the estancia's branding-iron from his childhood in France and Argentina and made it the symbol of Domaine de Trians.
Jean-Louis Masurel is a banker by training. He became a director of the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton - Moet-Hennessy), then CEO of Hédiard, one of the leading French wine and gourmet food groups.
In 1989, Jean-Louis Masurel, a bold visionary, recognized the underutilized potential and outstanding terroir of this estate, near Néoules in the Var. He decided to restore it to its earlier quality, bringing out all the property's individual character.
Since then, he has spent most of his time ensuring that his wines (Domain, Château, and Saint-Clément) are ranked among the best in south-east France and receive the recognition they deserve from international critics.

Thierry Gaimard,
estate manager

Thierry Gaimard is a local man. He was born 5 km from Domaine de Trians, into family who have been winegrowers for centuries, so he naturally studied viticulture, then worked on several vineyard estates in Provence.
His meeting with Jean-Louis Masurel was a key event in his career, as it gave him the opportunity to rebuild a winegrowing estate from A to Z, maintaining a traditional approach but using state-of-the-art technologies. Thierry's family background has convinced him that tradition cannot be sacrificed to productivity... if you want to make extraordinary wine. He puts his convictions into practice every day, as he tends the estate's vineyards.

Jean-Jacques Coll,
winemaker

Jean-Jacques Coll is certainly one of the best-known winemakers in France. Jacky has spent his career contributing to spectacular improvements in the quality of a number of wines from the south of France. His talent and expertise have earned him a fine reputation among connoisseurs.
For Coll, the art of winemaking is based on two principles: good terroir and fine grape varieties that must be perfectly suited to the growing conditions. He is involved at all stages in winemaking, from vineyard management through to final blending, and shares Jean-Louis Masurel's respect for tradition, love of challenges, and a passion for impeccable quality.
